Dell, still a relative stranger to acquisitions, is buying MessageOne, Adam Dell's enterprise-class, on-demand e-mail services business, a company in which his brother Michael, Dell's founder, had a piece. The going price is $155 million cash.
It's earmarked for Dell's SaaS portfolio and provides continuity, archiving and disaster recovery.
According to the company, Michael, his wife and their kids' trust will make $12 million, which is supposed to go to charity. Adam will get $970k and their parents $450k.
