The business value of RIAs is very clear: aesthetics do matter and users would like a pleasant experience. This Power Panel seeks to take a deep dive via Rich-Web and User Experience use cases that delegates recognize and can reference in making their own business case for Rich Internet Applications within their company or organization. Examples will be taken from all over the world...and will inevitably include the iPhone.

Speaker Bios:
Jnan Dash is the Chief Strategy Officer at Curl Inc. He spent ten years at Oracle Corporation and was the Group Vice President, Systems Architecture and Technology till 2002. He was responsible for setting Oracle's core database and application server product directions and interacted with customers worldwide in translating future needs to product plans.

Christopher Keene is Chairman and CEO of WaveMaker (formerly ActiveGrid). Chris was the founder, in 1991, of Persistence Software, a San Mateo, CA-based company that created a new approach for managing data in high-transaction banking and communications systems. Persistence Software investors included Cisco, Intel, Reuters and Sun Microsystems. The company went public in 1999 on the NASDAQ exchange and was sold in 2004 to Progress software.

After leaving Persistence Software in 2005, Chris spent a year in France as chairman of Reportive Software, a Paris-based maker of business-intelligence tools, and as an adjunct professor and entrepreneur-in-residence at INSEAD, a leading graduate business school.

Charles Kendrick is CTO and Chief Architect at Isomorphic Software, which he co-founded in 2000 to pursue more powerful and flexible ways of building software via DHTML — today’s AJAX.

Charles is the architect of the SmartClient AJAX platform, technology which powers many of the world’s most sophisticated AJAX RIAs and is relied on in critical, high volume systems throughout the Fortune 500.

Prior to co-founding Isomorphic, Charles worked on a variety of enterprise and consumer applications and platforms in roles at HP, Siemens and several start-ups, where he collected and refined the best practices and patterns now found in SmartClient.

When not working, Charles can be found surfing, making unusual vodka infusions, or cooking with his fiancé. Charles is an alumnus of Stanford University, where he studied symbolic systems.

Stephen Maryka is CTO at ICEsoft Technologies Inc., and leads the ICEfaces open source project. He has been involved in Java-based AJAX techniques since 2003 - a time before the term "AJAX" was even coined. Prior to joining ICEsoft, Steve was co-founder of AudeSi Technologies where he served as VP of Technology and led Java product development for Internet appliances. After AudeSi was acquired by Wind River Systems in 2000, he served as a principle technologist there until joining ICEsoft.

Coach Wei is the developer behind Razor, a set of tools and services for optimizing web 2.0 applications. He is also Chairman of Nexaweb technologies, an Enterprise Web 2.0 software company.
